Three teenagers in Manhattan who allegedly beat up and robbed a little girl earlier this month remain at large, police reported.
Police said the 12-year-old victim was walking with a friend in front of 479 Audubon Ave. in Washington Heights on May 8 at approximately 6:25 p.m. when a group of female teenagers approached her.
The teens, unknown to the girl, struck up a conversation by asking if she “knows a person,” police sources said. When the victim said she did not know, police sources said, the bullies then kicked her and punched her in the face several times.
After the violent beating, the perps grabbed the victim’s cellphone and fled the location to parts unknown, police said.
Bruised and beaten, the little girl was brought to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue where she was treated for minor injuries. Her mother reported the incident to the 34th Precinct, police said.
No arrests have been made yet, but police released a photo of the suspects, obtained through social media, and described them as female, approximately 14 to 18 years old.
The investigation remains ongoing.
