Police are searching for the Chelsea slasher who attacked a man during a brawl last week, authorities said.
According to police, a group of about four men got into a verbal argument with another group of individuals outside of 680 6th Ave., a Chipotle location, during the early of Feb. 17.
Though the skirmish fizzled out, police noted, it picked back up at about 3:30 a.m. as members of one group waited for a taxi. That led to a physical altercation and a fist fight ensued.
During the brawl, cops said, one individual brandished a knife and slashed the victim, a 26-year-old man, across the face, leaving him with what cops describe as a “severe laceration.”
The perpetrator was last seen fleeing into the Bounce Sporting Club, at 55 West 21st St., according to police.
Police said the victim was rushed to Lenox Hill HealthPlex – Greenwich Village in serious but stable condition. The incident was reported to the 13th Precinct.
During the investigation, police took a 26-year-old man into custody in connection with the assault. The slasher, however, remains at large.
The NYPD released images of the slasher on Monday night. They describe him as a man with a medium build, believed to be in his 30s.
