Cybertruck driver brandishes gun during Midtown road rage incident

Police are on the hunt for a Tesla Cybertruck driver who threatened another motorist and their passengers in a Midtown road rage incident early on Monday morning, authorities said.

According to police sources, the incident unfolded at around 3:57 a.m. on Oct. 14 outside of 150 Central Park South.

Cops say the lime green Cybertruck driver collided with a Lexus four-door Sedan. While officials did not provide details on the severity of the fender bender, they confirmed that the Cybertruck driver then exited his vehicle and pointed a gun at the Lexus driver and two passengers.

Authorities said that after the incident, the Cybertruck driver returned to his vehicle and sped away toward 5th Avenue.

The incident was reported to the Midtown North Precinct. Police said no injuries were reported.

The Tesla Cybertruck, known for its boxy triangular body, was made famous by controversial Tesla CEO Elon Musk. As of June 30, 2024, the company reported that 58 Cybertrucks were registered in New York City.
