A crazed man struck a straphanger in the back of the head with a metal object in a frightening attack in a Manhattan subway station early Wednesday morning.
The victim, a 52-year-old man, was in the stairwell at the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall station at around 6:20 a.m. when the suspect approached him from behind and struck him in the head with a piece of metal, police said.
The straphanger sustained a laceration to his head and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
Police have released a photo of the man wanted for the attack.
