Police in Harlem are investigating an assault that left a teen dead and a 21-year-old man injured on Thursday.
According to authorities, the deadly attack occurred in the vicinity of 159-26 Harlem River Drive on July 11 at around 5:47 p.m.
Police from the 32 Precinct and PSA 6 responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at the address. When officers arrived, they found 18-year-old Kaiel Dent, of 2999 Eighth Ave. in Manhattan, bloodied from a stab wound to his body. A man with a slash across his torso was also found on scene, police said.
EMS responded and rushed both victims to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where Dent was pronounced dead and the other victim listed in stable condition.
Police could not confirm at this time a motive or whether the victims knew who attacked them, but a knife was recovered at the scene.
So far, no arrests have been made, but the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
