Police have arrested the parents of a 3-month-old girl whose body was found dead Sunday night in a wooded area off the Major Deegan Expressway.
Damion Comager, 23, was charged with murder and concealment of a corpse Monday for allegedly killing his daughter and then dumping her body off the highway near West 161st Street, a short distance from Yankee Stadium. EMS pronounced the infant, identified as Genevieve Comager, dead at the scene.
Police had been searching for Genevieve, after she had been reported missing by a family member from a homeless shelter on University Avenue where the infant was residing.
Police on Monday also arrested the infant’s mother, Ivan Paolozzi, 20, on charges of concealment of a human corpse and obstructing governmental administration.
According to police, David Comager shook Genevieve when the child wouldn’t stop crying. She then became unresponsive, police said, and the girl’s lifeless body was stuffed in a garbage bag and tossed near the highway.
