Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that left two people dead in Lincoln Square on Wednesday night.
According to police, at 11:35 p.m. on Nov. 10 officers responded to a 911 call regarding a residential fire inside of 216 West 62nd Street. FDNY personnel responded and got the fire, which broke out in a 4th floor apartment, under control.
A 44-year-old man and 70-year-old woman were found inside the apartment shortly after. Paramedics declared both victims dead at the scene — their identities are being withheld pending family notification.
A preliminary investigation by the Fire Marshall believes that that fire was not suspicious, however the investigation remains ongoing.
