It’s been 15 years since American Airlines Flight 587 crashed in Queens, killing all 265 people on board.
The doomed flight was en route to the Dominican Republic from John F. Kennedy International Airport when it crashed in Belle Harbor on Nov. 12, 2001.
The crash, which came two months after the Sept. 11 terror attack, rattled New Yorkers, prompting evacuations at the Empire State Building and United Nations Headquarters. The NTSB determined that the cause of the accident was mechanical failure.
