President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have taken their oaths of office during the inaugural ceremony on Capitol Hill Wednesday morning.
Biden becomes the 46th commander in chief, taking over for former President Donald Trump, whom Biden defeated in the November election. Harris, meanwhile, made history in becoming the first woman, first Black American and first American of South Asian descent to hold the vice presidency. She was sworn in by Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor, a Bronx native.
