Police are looking for a brazen burglar who allegedly vandalized a candy store in Grand Central Terminal last week.

According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred at the Neuhaus Chocolate Store on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at approximately 2:50 a.m.

The suspect broke into the shop by kicking in a glass door at its E. 42 Street entrance. Police sources said he then vandalized the interior, which caused an estimated $29,000 in property damage.

Right now, it is unclear what additional damage the burglary caused to the store or what–if any–items were stolen.

amNew York Metro reached out to Neuhaus, but an employee who answered the phone said the manager was too busy to comment. The regional manager did not return an email request for comment.

Following the break-in, the suspect fled the scene eastbound on 42nd Street, where he entered the subway system and boarded a downtown 6 train.

On Friday, Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) police released surveillance photos and a video of the suspect, who remains at large.

In the video, the suspect is shown wearing a black shirt and black hat, repeatedly kicking the shop’s door and later jumping a turnstile.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect’s whereabouts can contact the MTA Police tip line at 212-MTA-POLICE (212-682-7654).
