Midtown detectives are investigating a Herald Square shooting on Sunday night that left a 12-year-old boy seriously wounded.

Three suspects are at large for the gun violence that broke out at about 9:07 p.m. on Sept. 15 near the corner of 30th Street and 6th Avenue.

Officers from the Midtown South Precinct found the 12-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to his leg steps away from an NYPD Traffic Control Division office. The shooting shocked bystanders at the scene.

“I have lived here my whole life,” one onlooker said, watching a swarm of cops descend on the area. “The balls to shoot someone right next to a precinct.”

EMS rushed the wounded boy to Bellevue Hospital; he is expected to survive his injury. Sources familiar with the incident report that the boy is a migrant staying at a local hotel; the sources did not specify his country of origin.
