New Yorkers who have a city ID card can now link their IDNYC to their health care services and immunization records, officials announced Thursday.
The city said the nearly 830,000 cardholders can add that benefit during the patient registration process at city’s public hospitals. Once the link is complete, card holders can use their ID for faster patient registration during visits to any NYC Health + Hospitals location.
“The IDNYC partnerships with NYC Health + Hospitals and DOHMH are integral to ensuring all New Yorker’s health needs are met, including our most vulnerable communities,” said Dr. Herminia Palacio, the deputy mayor for Health and Human Services.
Coney Island Hospital is the first to offer the link and other medical centers will follow in the next few months, according to the city.
IDNYC cardholders can also access immunization records through an online portal that will launch in the summer.
