Line backer sacked
Police charged Keith Bulluck, 34, a former New York Giants line backer for driving a car with a suspended license after he was stopped at a checkpoint at W. Houston and Washington Sts at 3:44 a.m. Fri., Jan. 6.
Forged check
Employees at a Chase Bank branch on Delancey St., near Essex St. became suspicious on Fri., Dec. 30 when a young client tried to deposit a check for $73,000 into his account. The account on which the check was written turned out to be bogus and the signature on the check was forged, police said.. The suspect, Patrick Lattamore, 18, was charged with larceny, criminal possession of a forged instrument, and identity theft.
Seek teen burglars
Three burglars between the ages of 14 and 17 entered a residential building on Thompson St. at Prince St. around 2:30 p.m. Mon., Dec. 26 and began to knock on doors until they came to an unlocked apartment where no one was home, police said. They entered and made off with a MacBook but their images were taped by a surveillance camera, police said,
Soho shoplifting
Police arrested a 44-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man who tried to walk out of Bloomingdales at 504 Broadway in Soho around 5 p.m., Thurs. Dec. 29 without paying for nine pairs of jeans and a jacket. Crystal Bryant, 44, and Emmanuel Peterson, 18, were charged with larceny and possession of burglary tools.
Newsstand robbery
Police arrested Gregory Dupree, 57, shortly after 4:20 p.m. Tues., Jan. 3 was and charged him with robbing BJ’s Magazines on Varick near Grand St., Police said the suspect reached over the counter and snatched a stack of bills. When an employee tried to grab the money back, Dupree shoved him back and fled from the store. Police on patrol soon apprehended Dupree.
Phone confession
A man who phoned 911 from a pay phone on Church St. at Warren St. around 6:40 p.m. Mon., Jan. 9 told the operator he had murdered his girlfriend in her Bronx apartment and that he wanted to kill himself, according to a New York Post item. The caller was gone when police arrived at the pay phone and at the Bronx address that he had given over the phone, police found a woman who had been beaten to death several days earlier.
