New York City’s iconic Junior’s Restaurant will be touring all 5 boroughs in honor of National Cheesecake Day. Known for its delicious cheesecakes, Junior’s will be premiering its brand new Junior’s Cheesecake food truck that will be going around NYC all weekend long.
The Cheesecake Truck will be offering $5 slices with an array of different topping choices. Junior’s is offering flavors like macaroon crunch, strawberry sauce, chocolate sauce, rainbow sprinkles, chocolate chips and many more.
“From the Financial District to the beach, we’re going to give New Yorkers an unforgettable weekend. As Marie Antionette might have said, ‘let them eat cheesecake!’” said Alan Rosen, third-generation owner of Junior’s.
Customers also get the opportunity to play a fun game while they enjoy their cheesecake. The “Wheel of Cheesecake” offers participants an array of free prizes. You can win free slices of cake, t-shirts, National Cheesecake Day temporary tattoos and hats.
The journey will begin this Friday, July 29. The Junior’s Cheesecake Truck will start the delicious weekend at Smorgasburg World Trade Center and stay there from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will then go to Long Island City, Queens and stay there until 4 p.m.
On Saturday, July 30 the truck will make its way from the Bronx all the way to Staten Island. When the truck arrives in Staten Island, the Junior’s team will celebrate National Cheesecake Day with the Staten Island Ferry Hawks baseball team. They will even have a cheesecake-eating competition. Proceeds from this event will go to the Widows and Orphans Fund of the NYPD.
Finally, on Sunday, July 31 the truck will make its way to Brooklyn to spend it’s morning in Coney Island on Surf Avenue. The truck’s live location can be monitored through Junior’s social media pages.
Junior’s isn’t done yet. For 1 day, Junior’s is offering $5 slices at their locations in Brooklyn, Midtown, Times Square and the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. Additionally, there will be an offer for $5 off every small cheesecake, $6 off every medium cheesecake, and $7 off every larger cheesecake.
