Cops are investigating after 44-year-old man was fatally stabbed Tuesday night in the Bronx.
According to authorities, police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress in front of 130 West 228th Street in Marble Hill. When they arrived, officers discovered the victim, whose name has not yet been released by police, with multiple stab wounds throughout his body.
EMS rushed the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing, cops said Wednesday.
In the Bronx’s 50th Precinct, where the fatal stabbing occurred, reports of felony assault are slightly down year-to-date, according to Police Department data, with 148 incidents reported as of Sept. 10. During the same time last year, there were 150 reported felony assaults.
Meanwhile, murder is trending upward in the precinct, according to the same data. There were three homicides reported in the precinct as of Sept. 10 — up from two during the same time last year.
