Cops cuffed a man who they say slashed a woman in Midtown over the weekend.
At 10 a.m. on July 21, a 59-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 7th Avenue and West 42nd Street when she was approached by a male suspect. The suspect then pulled out a box cutter and slashed the victim in the right hand in an unprovoked attack.
The suspect then fled the scene on East 42nd Street. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Following an ongoing investigation, police arrested 30-year-old Anthony Evans, of Amsterdam Avenue, in connection to the assault on Aug. 2. He was charged with assault as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon.
