Police are investigating the death of a man who was found dead in a Brooklyn apartment on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the NYPD, at 12:52 p.m. on Aug. 10 officers from the 75th Precinct conducted a wellness check at 25 101st Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers gained access to the second-floor apartment of concern and found a 75-year-old man sitting in a chair, unconscious and unresponsive.
Paramedics rushed to the apartment and declared the victim dead at the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The FDNY Hazmat team reportedly removed several bags of bio-hazardous material from the apartment. FBI reportedly arrived on scene on Aug. 11.
The Medical Examiner will determine the victim’s cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
