A man was rescued Friday morning after spending about an hour trapped in a construction trench in Crown Heights, FDNY said.

The man was conscious while trapped at 1705 Dean Street, according to Eyewitness News. He was transported to Kings County Hospital in serious but stable condition, the FDNY said.

More than 100 fire and EMS officials responded to the call, which came in just before 9 a.m., the FDNY said.

It’s unclear if the man was a construction worker or a civilian.
