A 48-year-old straphanger was slashed by an enraged man with box cutter at a Harlem subway station Monday night.

The victim was attacked shortly after he got into a heated dispute with the suspect at around 7:30 p.m. on the mezzanine level at the Saint Nicholas Avenue and West 125 Street subway station.

The suspect then slashed the 48-year-old in the right shoulder and abdomen with the box cutter before fleeing the area. The victim was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.

The suspect is described as having a light complexion, being between 45-to-55 years of age, and with a slim build. He has salt and pepper hair and was last seen wearing a turquoise t-shirt, gray sweatpants, white sneakers, and was carrying a backpack.

Police released a photo and video footage of the suspect.
