A person was fatally struck by a train in Brooklyn Monday morning, police reported.
The incident occurred at 9:06 a.m. when a J train struck a man in his 40s at the Marcy Avenue station in Williamsburg.
According to police he was on the tracks when the train arrived at the station.
The incident led to the power being shut off on the tracks and the trains being halted while the investigation took place delaying service all morning between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officials. At this time, it is unknown how or why he was on the train tracks.
