A 67-year-old woman was struck in the head with a rock by a man in the West Village last week.
The victim was walking in the vicinity of West 14th Street and 7th Avenue at around 9 a.m. on Thursday when the suspect approached her at random and struck her in the head with the rock.
The suspect fled the scene on foot westbound on West 15th Street toward 8th Avenue. Meanwhile, the woman suffered a head injury and was transported by EMS to an area hospital.
The man is described as being approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build and long dark hair with a beard. He was last seen wearing dark pants and a green shirt.
The NYPD released a photo and video footage of the suspect.
