Manhattan detectives are investigating an early-morning shooting on Sunday that left a man seriously wounded.
Police said the shooting occurred at about 3:45 a.m. on April 27 near the corner of West 143rd Street and Broadway in Hamilton Heights.
Officers from the 30th Precinct responded to the location after receiving a 911 call about the shooting.
Not long after arriving at the scene, cops learned that the victim, an unidentified man, had been brought via private means to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, police sources said.
Detectives are canvassing the area of the shooting for ballistic evidence and other clues connected to the shooting. At this time, police sources did not provide information about a possible motive for the shooting or a suspect’s description.
