Manhattan cops are on the hunt for a brazen vandal who slashed the tires of more than a dozen NYPD vehicles earlier this week.
Cops say the vandalism occurred near 145 West 30th St. in Midtown at about 11:40 p.m. on March 4.
Law enforcement sources said the perpetrator used a sharp object to slash tires on 19 NYPD vehicles at the location. The vehicles are part of the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Task Force patrol, which frequently patrols major transit hubs and locations in Midtown.
Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene on foot northbound on 7th Avenue and was seen Penn Station at an entrance near 33rd Street.
On Wednesday night, the NYPD released images of the suspected vandal, whom they described as a man with a light complexion and a heavy build, standing about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing about 260 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a blue hat, a white surgical facemask, dark-colored pants and gray sneakers.
