Nana’s Green Tea, a pioneering Japanese Tea experience and renowned leader in matcha cafes, makes its grand debut to the bustling streets of Manhattan opening a New York City location in the heart of the NoMad neighborhood.
“Nana’s Green Tea is not just about serving tea; it’s about offering a bridge between the traditional Japanese tea culture and the modern lifestyle,” said Kyung Rim Choi, the visionary behind the franchise and leader of Group KFF Inc.
The cafe’s menus highlight three main items: Matcha Parfaits, Latte Frappes and Top Grade Espresso.
Matcha Parfait: A layered delight with premium matcha and locally sourced seasonal fruits.
Matcha Latte Frappe: A refreshing blend of rich matcha and creamy milk, served cold.
Matcha Top Grade Espresso: A bold, concentrated matcha shot, offering the essence of matcha in its purest form.
These signature items showcase the ongoing dedication of Nana’s Green Tea to strengthen traditional Japanese ingredients in a modern context along with making the respected ‘Japanese espresso’ accessible to a larger audience.
The grand opening of the new 1,700 square foot store at 1250 Broadway offered a slice of Japan’s rich cultural heritage, including the respected Sake Barrel Breaking Ceremony and a Japanese Traditional Tea Ceremony performance. Kazuto Kutami, CEO of Nana’s Green Tea, traveled from Japan to make an appearance.
Nana’s Green Tea’s new location, featuring 70 seats, specifically is a testament to the brand’s “New Japanese Style” by seamlessly blending modern design with the essence of a traditional Japanese tea room. Original artworks like “Cha-tsuru,” “Tale of Genji,” and “Cha-bana” enhance the space, creating an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional tea house.
Through its unique blend of tradition and modernity, Nana’s Green Tea aspires to become an integral part of New York City’s vibrant culinary scene.
This significant milestone celebrates Nana’s Green Tea’s commitment to introducing the authentic Japanese tea culture and modern café lifestyle to the bustling streets of Manhattan, starting March 1, 2024.
“Our New York City location is a culmination of this vision, providing a space where everyone can discover and enjoy the rich heritage of matcha as part of their daily lives,” said Rim Choi.
