Local filmmaker Nicole Philippidis took home the award for Best Music Video in the New York Shorts International Film Festival.
The video, entitled “Sound of Silence,” shows what Greenwich Village looked like during the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020, showing the uncertainty and unrest that came to the neighborhood during this time. The song “Sound of Silence,” originally by Simon and Garfunkel, is performed in this video by musicians Steven Delopoulos and Johnny Philipps (formerly known as Burlap to Cashmere).
