A newsstand employee was stabbed and then robbed by two people this past Thursday on the Upper West Side, according to police.
The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Nov. 21 at the corner of West 60th Street and Broadway.
Cops said two men allegedly approached and demanded the male employee exit the stand. One of the men stood in front of the newsstand, while the second man allegedly displayed a knife and stood at the stand’s entrance, according to officials.
That led to a struggle with the employee, police said, and the knife-wielding man then allegedly stabbed the employee on the back of his left shoulder.
The two alleged thieves took $1,440 in cash, police said, then fled on foot into the subway at Columbus Avenue and West 59th Street.
EMS took the victim to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was treated for a slight laceration and then released, according to police.
The two wanted men are described by police as being in their late teens or early 20s, each wearing jeans, sneakers and multi-colored hooded jackets.
