Sisters Lily, 8, and Georgia Hupfel, 11, were the first to experience the new public art exhibit “Eleven Heavy Things” last Friday in Union Square Park, where it will be on view through Oct. 3. The work’s creator, Miranda July, showed the young critics some fun ways to take in the art. July’s series of 11 interactive sculptures was first exhibited at the Venice Biennale, and is presented in New York by Deitch Projects as its final public project, in cooperation with the Union Square Partnership. July lives in Los Angeles where she is currently working on a new feature film, “The Future.”
