The summer of shootings in New York continued Monday night into Tuesday morning with another round of gun violence that left a man dead in Queens and six others wounded citywide.

Last night’s violence follows a weekend in which there were 37 people shot with eight of those victims fatal.

Police say the lone fatality on Monday night occurred at 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 24 in the rear of 1430 Redfern Ave. in the Redfern Houses, a NYCHA development in Far Rockaway.

Officers from the 101st Precinct found a 30-year-old man unconscious, shot twice in he chest. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, but could not be saved.

Police are going through NYCHA video and speaking to witnesses to find the killer, but have made no arrests as yet.

In another Queens shooting, three people were shot in front of a shuttered storefront on 177th Street near 106th Avenue in Jamaica at about 9:17 p.m. Monday night.

Officers from the 103rd Precinct reported that the individuals were among a group of people drinking outside the establishment when the gunfire rang out.

Law enforcement sources said a 54-year-old woman was hit in the leg, while a 44-year-old man was shot in the back, and a 35-year-old man took a bullet to his leg.

All victims were rushed by EMS to Jamaica Hospital and listed in stable condition.

Police found numerous spent shells in the middle of 177th Street. Many of the shots struck a metal gate of Hilcena Mini Market, holes clearly visible after the shooting.

Folding chairs and numerous bottles of alcohol of various types were left at the scene.

Police did not yet provide a description of the assailants in this case.

“This area is usually pretty quiet,” said one man who wouldn’t be identified. “People are just so full of anger – I don’t know why they gotta use guns here.”

The third shooting of the night occurred at 10:22 p.m., when officers from PSA-2 and the 73rd Precinct received a 911 call of people shot at 184 Tapscott St. in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

Upon arrival, officers found a 16-year-old male shot in the back at the at the scene, lying among empty Hennessy bottles and chairs where a few people had been drinking.

A second teenager, 17, was found a block away at 725 Howard Ave. suffering a bullet wound to the abdomen.

Both teens were rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where they are both expected to survive their wounds.

Police found six spent shells in front of the location, a NYCHA run building where the teens had been gathered, empty cups from the drinking spree marking the rounds.

Peter Jones, a chaplain and member of the GodSquad expressed outrage that the shootings have continued unabated. He said a shooting had occurred on his own block on East 93rd Street the day before.

“They simply don’t want to stop shooting each other – we are doing what we can to convince people to put down the guns, but people won’t listen,” Jones sighed.
