Michelle Obama was the star attraction at a fundraiser for her presidential-candidate husband, Barack Obama, last week at fashion designer Calvin Klein’s West Village home. She arrived in a minivan for the June 17 event at Klein’s place in one of the Richard Meier buildings at Perry and West Sts. Among the 50 to 75 guests at the reported $10,000-a-plate benefit were film director Spike Lee, pro basketball star LeBron James, below, with his girlfriend, Savannah Brinson, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Getting wind of the big-bucks political party, West Village neighbors gathered on the sidewalk outside, applauding and cheering Obama as she passed them when she left.
