In 1975, spoken word artist and author Patti Smith and her band gathered in New York’s Electric Lady Studios to record her debut album, “Horses,” a landmark blend of song and hallucinatory imagery that was released on November 10, the anniversary of the death of a key influence on her work, poet Arthur Rimbaud.
