Police in Brooklyn are searching for a brute who allegedly smashed a glass bottle over an MTA bus rider’s head last month.

Law enforcement sources said the 57-year-old male victim was aboard an MTA bus at Slocum Place and Coney Island Avenue in Kensington on June 10 at around 7:55 p.m. when the incident occurred. Police could not confirm the name of the bus at this time.

According to authorities, the attack started with a verbal dispute over speaker volume. The victim asked the suspect to turn down the volume of his phone. The suspect, irritated by the request, started cursing at the victim, police said.

The dispute escalated when the perp whipped out a glass bottle and proceeded to strike the victim over the head with it multiple times, causing minor injuries, authorities said.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot northbound on Coney Island Avenue.

Officers from the 70th Precinct responded to the incident. EMS brought the victim to NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn in stable condition.

No arrests have been made yet, but the NYPD on Wednesday released a surveillance photo of the suspect at large.

The investigation remains ongoing.
