Police have released surveillance images of the man who has made headlines after they say he tried to rape a young woman on the Upper East Side Saturday.
Cops are asking the public to help identify the perpetrator wanted for an early morning sexual assault on Aug. 10, having released a slew of security photos taken from the scene where the suspect allegedly set upon a woman near Gracie Mansion.
According to police, the horrific incident occurred on the corner of East 90th Street and York Avenue at around 1:20 a.m. Authorities report that a 19-year-old woman was walking along the sidewalk when the brute shoved her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
Law enforcement says a nearby doorman overheard the victim’s screams and rushed to intervene, causing the suspect to flee Eastbound along 90th Street toward the FDR Drive.
Cops from the 19th Precinct responded to the scene while EMS rushed the woman to Weill Cornell Medical Center with minor injuries.
The NYPD described the suspect as being about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt, blue jeans, and multicolored shoes.
