The police are looking for a pair of scooter-riding bandits who allegedly robbed several women on the Upper West Side last month.
The perpetrators, according to cops, conducted three robberies during the last week of June while riding a two-wheeled scooter.
The first incident allegedly took place on Monday, June 26 at around 4:15 p.m. when the pair targeted a 56-year-old woman who was riding a bicycle in the vicinity of Central Park West and West 63rd Street. The suspects approached the woman, police said, and removed a basket containing a wallet from the bicycle before fleeing on West 65th Street. The victim was not hurt.
Fifteen minutes later, the suspects allegedly approached a 65-year-old woman while on their scooter who was walking in the vicinity of West 66th Street and Riverside Avenue. The suspects, cops said, snatched a wallet and cellphone from the victim’s hands before fleeing in an unknown direction. The woman was not injured.
The following day, at around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, the suspects allegedly targeted a 42-year-old woman who was walking in the vicinity of West End Avenue and West 88th Street. The suspects punched the woman in the face, cops said, with a closed fist and ripped her phone out of her hand before fleeing. The victim declined medical attention at the scene.
Police released video footage and photos of the suspects.
