Seven teenagers allegedly stole items

Seven teenagers allegedly entered a retail store in East Harlem Sunday and grabbed several items off the shelves before beating up two employees who unsuccessfully tried to stop them from exiting without paying, according to police.

The suspects allegedly walked into Jackpot 99 Cent and Up, a discount store located at 108 East 116th St., at around 10:55 a.m. and removed numerous items from the shelves before attempting to walk out without paying, cops said.

Two store employees, a 45-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man, attempted to stop them as they exited the store sparking a verbal dispute. The alleged thieves them punched the 45-year-old in the mouth and head, and the 55-year-old in the face. The teenagers then walked out of the store with the items.

Both employees were transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem where they were treated for their injuries and released.

The NYPD said that all seven suspects are teenagers of dark or medium complexion, with four being male and three being female.
