Police are investigating a shooting at a Brooklyn BJ’s store that left one man dead on Thursday night.
Authorities say that at 10:14 p.m. on Aug. 4, police responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting in the parking lot/garage area of the store, located at 1752 Shore Parkway. Upon their arrival, officers found 19-year-old Dereck Chen with gunshot wounds to his face and shoulder.

Paramedics rushed the victim to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead.
A firearm was recovered from the scene. An 18-year-old man was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, but no charges have been released at the time of publication.
