Comedy Central is celebrating South Park’s 25th anniversary with “South Park: The 25th Anniversary Experience” this Saturday. The first stop on the trip will be New York City’s own Union Square.
The anniversary event will be traveling across the country, coming to NYC, Chicago, Red Rocks, Denver and Los Angeles.
“South Park: The 25th Anniversary Experience” is an immersive exhibit that shows off the iconic props, memorabilia, artwork, collectibles and never-before-seen scripts, storyboards concept art and more, all used in creating the adult cartoon.
The setup for the event is inspired by the real South Park Studios storage unit. For 25 years many of these items were on display there, but now they finally are getting the chance to move to a new city. The exhibit is inside a custom fabricated shipping container, giving fans the experience of “‘stepping into the South Park vault for the very first time.”
The shipping container has a custom Cartman-inspired paint job. Fans will have Instagram-worthy opportunities to take pictures with their favorite characters in front of 3 different iconic South Park landscapes.
The event is made possible by the collaboration with entertainment and brand experience company Superfly.
The experience will be open on July 23 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
