A subway slashing at the Bryant Park station on Tuesday morning left a man wounded and a suspect on the run, police reported.
The brazen incident occurred at around 9 a.m. on Nov. 26 at the northbound platform of the B, D, F, and M lines of the 42nd Street-Bryant Park station.
According to police sources, cops received several 911 calls that a man was attacked with a knife following a verbal argument.
Responding officers from the Midtown South Precinct and NYPD Transit District 1 found the victim, a 28-year-old man, with a slash wound to the right arm on the mezzanine after retreating upstairs, dripping blood along the way.
EMS transported him to Bellevue Hospital for treatment of his injury, which was not life-threatening..
MTA staff could be observed using bleach to mop up the blood.
Police describe the unknown assailant as standing about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, who was last seen wearing a black hat, beige shirt, and green jacket. Police believed he fled onto an M train.
The slashing occurred less than 24 hours after a 15-year-old boy was knifed in the abdomen on a Manhattan-bound M train at the Court Square-23rd Street station in Queens at around 12:33 p.m. on Nov. 25. Police do not believe the two incidents are related.
No arrests have been made in either case and the investigation remains ongoing.
