Cops are looking for a sword-wielding suspect who assaulted a man on a Tribeca street on Thursday morning.
According to police, at 9:21 a.m. on Oct. 20 a 29-year-old man was on the A train when he got into a dispute with an unknown man, who appeared to be carrying a samurai sword. Police say that the suspect was menacing the victim with his sword.
When the train pulled into the Chambers Street Station, the victim followed the suspect to the street, where the suspect then hit the victim with a sword while it was still in its sheath. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
A report from Citizen indicates that the suspect was wearing a ninja suit, had a rainbow pattern on his sleeves and wore a black baseball hat with a Marvel logo and characters on it.
No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
