Police arrested a man who they say stabbed his girlfriend to death in Harlem over the weekend.
Zyaire Crumbley, 18, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 12 in connection to the death of 16-year-old Saniyah Lawrence.
Authorities say that at 5:40 p.m. on Dec. 11, cops responded to a 911 call regarding a female stabbed inside an apartment at 2306 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. Upon their arrival, officers found Lawrence with a stab wound to her neck.
Lawrence was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The NYPD identified Crumbley, who was Lawrence’s boyfriend, as a person of interest in the stabbing. He turned himself in at 9:05 p.m. Monday night and was charged with murder.
