Police are searching for a man who allegedly shot three people early Monday morning in Brooklyn.
According to law enforcement sources, the suspect opened fire in a busy intersection at Flatbush Avenue and Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn on July 15 just after midnight. Three victims sustained injuries, including a 41-year-old woman who was grazed by a bullet that brushed her neck and back, police said.
A 44-year-old man was shot in the right hand, while a 33-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh, authorities said. EMS responded and brought both men to New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition. The woman refused medical attention.
Meanwhile, the gunman immediately fled the scene on foot, going southbound on Flatbush Avenue to parts unknown before officers from the 88th Precinct arrived.
Police could not confirm if the victims and suspect knew each other. However, they did say a verbal dispute took place between the suspect and at least one of the victims before the terrifying incident erupted. One of the victims was struck as a bystander, but police could not confirm which one.
The NYPD on Monday night released photos of the suspect they are looking for. He is described as having a thin build and dark complexion. In the photos, he is shown in a subway station, wearing a grey and black shirt, grey pants and carrying a green book bag.
So far, no arrests have been made, but the investigation remains ongoing.
