Police have identified two women whose bodies were found along the Hudson River on the Upper West Side Wednesday afternoon.
The bodies of sisters Rotana Farea, 22, and Tala Farea, 16, both of Fairfax, Virginia, were discovered on the rocks near the river in the area of 68th Street and Riverside Park, according to the NYPD.
There were no obvious signs of trauma, cops said.
EMS crews immediately declared both women dead, and their bodies were transported to the city’s medical examiner for further investigation.
On Thursday, a spokeswoman for the medical examiner’s office said the bodies were not badly decomposed when they were found but their cause and manner of the deaths are pending until further analysis can be completed.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
