Bronx detectives are investigating after a man attacked a group of people following an argument outside a supermarket last week.
According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred in the parking lot of Stop & Shop at 5716 Broadway in Kingsbridge on Nov. 6 at around 11:36 p.m. The store was closed at the time.
The incident unfolded after the suspect and the victims, a 30-year-old woman and four men ages 30 to 46, were involved in a “verbal dispute,” according to police.
The argument escalated when the assailant “struck” the victims, police said. According to authorities, some of the victims are not cooperating with the investigation. As a result, police are still seeking more information about the assault, including how it transpired and how the victims were hurt.
The perpetrator fled the scene in a gray BMW X5 before officers from the 50th Precinct arrived.
EMS responded and rushed a 43-year-old male victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem in critical but stable condition. Medics brought the other victims to NYC Health and Hospitals/North Central Bronx in stable condition.
Police on Sunday released surveillance photos and video of the suspect, who remains at large. He is described as having a dark complexion and brown eyes, approximately 50 years of age, medium build, 5 feet, 8 inches, and 210 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a yellow sweater, black pants, a black baseball hat and black shoes with yellow shoelaces.
So far no arrests have been made, but the investigation remains ongoing.
