A Bronx man was gunned down inside a grocery store on Monday night, and detectives are scrambling to find his killer.
Police said Daquan Andrews, 28, was shot dead inside the shop on Home Street near Prospect Avenue in Morrisania at about 8:35 p.m. on Dec. 30.
According to law enforcement sources, Andrews — who lived on Prospect Avenue just down the block from the store — was shot in the chest inside the location. He had been taken via private means to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident was reported to the 41st Precinct. As of Tuesday morning, the motive for the shooting remains unclear, and police did not have a description of the suspect.
So far, no arrests have been made in the case, police said.

As of Dec. 29, according to the most recent CompStat report, the 41st Precinct had registered nine murders, one fewer than the total reported at the same point in 2023. Shootings in the command were also down from 20 last year to 15 this year.
