Cops are looking for the gunman behind a fatal shooting in the Bronx Sunday night.
At around 9:15 p.m. on June 11, police responded to a 911 call of multiple people shot in front of 1787 West Farms Road, within the confines of the 42nd Precinct. When they arrived, they discovered 34-year-old Jeremy Cancel of Yonkers with a gunshot wound to the torso.
EMS rushed Cancel to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where was pronounced dead.
Two more victims — one with a gunshot wound to the torso, the other with a gunshot wound to the butt — were transported by private means to Saint Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. Their identities were not released, but police say they were both 29 years old.
There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
While some crime is up in the Bronx’s 42nd Precinct, where Sunday’s shooting occurred, gunfire is down, according to Police Department data. As of May 14, when the most recent data is available, there were 10 reported shootings in the precinct — down three from the same time frame last year.
