Police are looking for the suspect who violently assaulted an elderly man in Chelsea last month.
According to the NYPD, the 72-year-old victim was sitting outside the New York City Housing Authority’s Fulton Senior Center in Chelsea on July 26, when the perp engaged the man in conversation at around 10:30 p.m.
Shortly after, the suspect punched the victim in the face, and ran inside the building at 117 Ninth Ave, cops said.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and took the injured man to Lenox Health Greenwich Village for treatment of his wounds.
No arrests have yet been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Cops described the victim as having a slim build with a light complexion, standing approximately 5’8” tall. He was last seen wearing no shirt, multicolored shorts, and black slippers.
Between Jan. 1 and Aug. 8, when the most recent NYPD data is available, there had been 16,603 felony assaults recorded on the streets of the five boroughs.
In the 10th Precinct, where the 72-year-old man was assaulted, police reported 100 such assaults year-to-date through Aug. 8.
