Cops searching for gunman in Brooklyn shooting on Sunday

Police are looking for a gunman who shot a 31-year-old in Brooklyn early on Sunday morning. 

According to the investigation, the suspect fired off a bullet into the victim’s leg near 15 Melrose St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant at around 2:20 a.m. 

Paramedics arrived on the scene and rushed the bloodied victim to Kings County Hospital in stable condition for treatment, according to police. 

The suspect, meanwhile, fled the location on foot westbound on Lewis Avenue before police arrived. 

No arrests have yet been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. 

Cops described the suspect as a male, standing 5’10” tall, with a dark skin complexion and a medium build. 

Between Jan. 1 and Nov. 19, when the most recent NYPD data is available, cops recorded 1,028 victims of gun violence on the streets of the five boroughs, including 344 in Brooklyn.
