Fire marshals in Brooklyn are investigating what caused a ferocious, four-alarm fire on Saturday night that left 10 families homeless.

The FDNY said the inferno ignited at about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 25 inside a top-floor apartment at 335 Graham Ave. in Williamsburg.

The first arriving units from Battalion 35 quickly rescued a victim from the burning third-story residence. One firefighter suffered minor injuries in the process.

Fire Department sources said the blaze quickly spread to two adjoining wood-frame dwellings; in all, 10 families were forced out and to find shelter elsewhere.

Eventually, more than 200 firefighters from 25 FDNY units participated in the firefighting operation, using an aggressive interior attack to knock down the main body of fire.

“The members did a tremendous job from keeping this from spreading,” said Assistant Chief of Operations Kevin Woods. “They were up against a lot of fire through the walls and roof.”

The fire was brought under control more than a hour after it began. At this point, it does not appear to be tied to any lithium-ion batteries, an FDNY source said; the batteries, typically used for e-bikes, have been tied to numerous fires in recent years.
