Police are looking for the gunman who shot a 40-year-old man in Brooklyn on Sunday night, according to an NYPD spokesperson.
According to the investigation, the shooter fired off several rounds in the vicinity of 49-15 Flatlands Avenue, and hit the victim in the chest at around 5:20 p.m.
Paramedics arrived on the scene in Flatlands and rushed the bloodied man to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition, where he is expected to recover from his wounds.
Sources say the suspect fled the scene in a pink-colored dollar van following the incident.
No arrests have yet been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The shooting comes after the NYPD celebrated a year-over-year decline in gun violence to end 2023, when 1,150 were shot on the streets of the five boroughs, compared with 1,566 people who sustained bullet wounds in 2022.
