The NYPD is looking for a suspect who stabbed a homeless shelter employee to death in Brooklyn on Thursday evening.
According to police, at 6:14 p.m. on Dec. 26, officers from the 73rd Precinct responded to a call regarding an assault in progress at 1691 East New York Ave., a Days Inn that has been operating as a shelter not operated by the city. Upon their arrival, officers found a 35-year-old man, who is said to be an employee of the shelter, lying in the lobby of the location with lacerations to the neck and abdomen.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
