Man in Queens found dead with facial trauma near home: cops

Police in Queens are investigating the gruesome death of a man found unconscious near a home early on Saturday morning.

Officers from the 101st Precinct found the victim while responding to a 911 call on the 1100 block of McBride St. in Far Rockaway at about 12:44 a.m. on Feb. 3.

Law enforcement sources said the man, age unknown, had trauma to his face and was unconscious and unresponsive.

Responding EMS units pronounced him dead at the scene. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.

His body was transferred to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
